Our core team members at Nepal Tiger Trust include locals who have been working in tiger tourism, tiger monitoring, tiger conservation,
tiger research and other tiger related activities for over 20 years. They are all founding members of the Trust.

Prakash M Shrestha
Chairman
My passion is on wildlife conservation and sustainable livelihood of rural people. I have worked in this field for the last three decades. Since 2014 I have been actively volunteering my time for Nepal Tiger Trust as Project Coordinator. I am focusing to increase community's participation in conservation activities, enhance collaboration among stakeholders and establish a community based resource center.

Dhan B Tamang
Vice Chairman
I'm a passionate tiger conservationist, have been monitoring tigers for more than 45 years in Chitwan National Park, Nepal. I used pug-mark tracking, radio-tracking and now camera trapping to understand the movement patterns and life histories of resident tigers.

Gauri Malakar
I have been working in eco-tourism for more then twenty-five years in Chitwan and Bardia National Parks. I believe quality tourism in a limited way can sustain wildlife and bring economy to local communities. I am fascinated by free ranging tigers and have been voluntarily assisting Nepal Tiger Trust achieve its goals and mission.

Ram Singh Gurung
I have been working at Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge for more than 35 years. First as a naturalist and later as an administrator. My interests in wildlife conservation has inclined me to volunteer for Nepal Tiger Trust's administrative services including finance and logistics.
Staff

Baburam Mahato
I am a Senior Tiger Technician over 25 years of experiences in tiger monitoring. I was trained by Dr. Charles McDougal on pugmarks and camera trapping techniques and have been camera trapping tigers since 1995. Additionally, I have trained over 300 forest guards, students, and local youths on tiger tracking skills.

Raju Kumal
I am highly skilled Tiger Technician and have been continuously monitoring tigers for 20 years using camera trapping. I am local buffer zone resident of Chitwan National Park and I feel comfortable living with tigers as neighbor.

Bishnu Mahato
I joined Nepal Tiger Trust in September 2023, as an admin / accountant role. However, I have decades of experiences in eco-tourism industry in Nepal and India. I am resident of Meghauli village and I love flora and fauna and am always excited to learn more about natural environment and its wildlife.
Suvas Chandra Mahato
I joined Nepal Tiger Trust as a trainee tiger technician in November 2025, where I am receiving hands-on training in tiger monitoring techniques such as pug-mark tracking and camera trapping and learning Chitwan’s ecology and wildlife. With four years of prior experience in eco-tourism sector and international travel exposure, I bring practical skills and knowledge. I am eager to contribute meaningfully to tiger conservation through this organization.
