On August 28, 2025, the Nepal Tiger Trust (NTT) was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation by the local Meghauli Ghatgai Nature Guide Association. The recognition was formally presented by Dr. Ganesh Panta, Chief Conservation Officer of Chitwan National Park, during the Association’s annual general meeting held at the Shiddharth Wildlife Retreat in Bharatpur.

This acknowledgment highlights NTT’s enduring commitment to collaborative conservation and its strong partnerships with local stakeholders working to protect Nepal’s rich biodiversity, including its iconic tiger population. The certificate was received on behalf of NTT by board member Mr. Ramsingh Gurung.

The Meghauli Ghatgai Nature Guide Association is a newly established organization of professional, certified nature guides who provide jungle excursions for international visitors to Chitwan National Park and its surrounding landscapes. Beyond tourism, the Association actively engages in conservation initiatives such as wildlife rescue, environmental education, and cleanup campaigns. With over 100 members, they primarily serve the western region of Chitwan National Park.

NTT has partnered with the Association to promote tiger conservation awareness in schools and communities across Meghauli. Through this collaboration, NTT shares vital research and monitoring data with nature guides, who in turn help disseminate this information throughout the region. This grassroots approach ensures that conservation knowledge reaches deep into the community, fostering a shared commitment to protecting Nepal’s tigers.
