The Nepal Tiger Trust (NTT) has launched camera trapping in Jagatpur Buffer Zone Block II, located in the easternmost part of the Chitwan study area. Over two days, on November 22–23, 2025, eight sets of camera traps were successfully installed.

This effort is carried out in close collaboration with national park game scouts and buffer zone community forest guards, while also serving as a valuable training opportunity for young tiger technicians and scouts. Under the guidance of senior NTT technicians Baburam Mahato and Raju Kumal, trainee technician Subhas Mahato and young game scout Shyam Budha actively participated in the setup and will continue to support the monitoring throughout the session.

A Promising Start
Within just a few days, the cameras captured images of a new female tiger and a male tiger previously photographed last season. This early success provides encouraging evidence of a strong tiger presence in the community forests, raising hopes for another season of rich monitoring results.
